There are over 1.5 million species of mushrooms, but the queen of Eastern culture is the beautiful Reishi mushroom. Known as the Queen of Mushrooms, the Mushroom of Immortality, the Lingzhi Mushroom, Ganoderma Lucidum or simply Reishi, this mushroom is used to maintain the well-being in China and Japan for over 2000 years. In China it is called Ling Zhi – „mushroom of spiritual potency“ or „mushroom of immortality“, and in Japan it is called Reishi or „phantom mushroom“. For example, according to world-renowned mycologist Paul Stamets, „out of 140,000 species of mushrooms that form fungi, only 10 percent are known to science.“ What a shame – when we are aware that mushrooms are one of the most powerful natural remedies on the planet. Currently, we grow only Reishi mushrooms in our farm. The mushrooms will be ready for harvest in July.
Reishi mushrooms are rich in bioactive polysaccharides, triterpenoids, adenosine, phenols, glycoproteins, sterols, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and micro elements. Reishi have a beneficial effect on the whole body. They have immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor qualities. Reishi significantly improve the immune system and increase the body’s natural healing mechanisms, effectively protecting it from certain viruses and bacteria.
These healing mushrooms have a powerful antioxidant effect and successfully protect the body from the harmful effects of free radicals. They help cells function properly. Thanks to their detoxifying effect, they protect the liver and purify it.
Reishi mushrooms have the ability to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, improve blood circulation and benefit the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. They are also a popular adaptogen with a relaxing and analgesic effect, helpful against insomnia, migraines and allergies.
Reishi mushrooms not only help prevent cancer, but also help eliminate existing cancer cells in the body. This is clear from a 2010 study, published in Pharmacological Reports. A year later, the results of another study suggested that the bioactive compounds in the Reishi mushroom could actually find and kill cancer cells.
Reishi mushrooms protect nerve cells. They can also have a therapeutic effect in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease. The data comes from a 2012 study, published in Neuropharmacology.
What makes Reishi valuable is that there are no side effects that can harm the body after consumption.
